Origin: Unknown
trueUse: Aunty wenu yuko wapi? = Where is your house help?
Period: Unknown
Synonyms: Unknown
Pronounciation: (Noun) [ ann-tee ]
Relate: Mboch Mbotch
Variations: Auntee, Antee,
History: While the word is from English, Sheng has adopted it's African version of bestowing respect to the house help given that she is the one that looks after the kids in the house. It's a rather matronly way of referring to the house help. Note This form of usage is unlike that in English where the aunt's name is usually mention e.g. "Aunty Lorna". A bit of a contradiction if you ask me :-)
